The University of Oregon’s Conflict of Interest in Research Committee (COIR Committee) is chaired by the Designated Institutional Official, which is currently the Associate Vice President for Research Compliance. Membership is composed of representative faculty members and administrative leadership from a variety of campus affiliations and backgrounds.
The COIR Committee meets monthly as necessary, with a minimum quorum of a majority present.
The COIR Committee is responsible for making recommendations to the Designated Institutional Official regarding the determination and management of Financial Conflicts of Interest in Research. In instances of non-compliance with the UO Policy on Financial Conflict of Interest in Research, the COIR Committee is also charged with conducting a retrospective review of circumstances and recommend mitigation steps and, if necessary, sanctions.
