University policy requires that all protocols determined to be Exempt involving human subjects will be reviewed at least every five years. If you plan to continue collecting data from human subjects or analyzing identifiable data you have already collected, you must submit a new Initial Review Application to renew your protocol.
Please keep in mind that average processing time for Initial Review is four to six weeks. Researchers should submit the protocol application six to eight weeks in advance of the anticipated start date for human subjects activities in order to ensure timely review.
If you have completed your work with human subjects and identifiable human subjects data, you must submit a Study Closure Application.
