Record Retention

Printer-friendly version

Records related to financial conflicts of interest in research (FCOIR) - such as SFI declarations, management plans, and documents related to instances of non-compliance - must be retained according to sponsor regulations and University of Oregon practices in accordance with Oregon Administrative Rule 166-475-0060.

  • RCS typically retains records for sponsored projects for five years from the date that the final financial report for the sponsored project is submitted to the sponsor. However, sponsoring agencies may have different record retention guidelines. When the defined retention periods or policies for a specific sponsor or a specific sponsored project conflicts, the more conservative rule will take precedence.
  • RCS retains records for non-sponsored projects for three years from the most recent SFI declaration submission date.
