Collaborative Institutional Training Initiative (CITI)
The Collaborative Institutional Training Initiative (CITI) is a web-based training product that was designed by, and is updated and maintained by a number of nationally known professionals and is a program of Biomedical Research Alliance of New York (BRANY). It is a comprehensive program offering up-to-date information on human subjects protection and Responsible Conduct of Research issues. Program content is regularly evaluated and improved. CITI is well-respected nationally, with many large research institutions relying on the program for basic training.
University of Oregon offers content in the following areas:
- Protection of Human Research Subjects - Required to meet the Institutional Review Board (IRB) education requirement.
- Responsible Conduct of Research (RCR) - Required for some grants or funding opportunities. RCR training does not meet the IRB training requirement.
- Good Clinical Practices (GCP) - For research teams involved in clinical trials of drugs, biologics, and devices. GCP training does not meet the IRB training requirement.
